hurricane rafael has officially reached category 3 just before its set to hit cuba, making it the fifth major hurricane of the season. by tonight its expected to reach the gulf and weaken substantially. spaghetti models are now predicting a sharp left turn to mexico. this is dependent on how much strength its able to maintain once it hits the gulf, with a weaker hurricane directing west and a stronger one keeping east, which at this point is very unlikely.
